Discover the importance of Breakfast

Today there is the belief that exercise while fasting helps burn more fat. But, is this true? RETO 48  works with a clear philosophy: exercise combined with a proper sports nutrition is fundamental to achieve our goals.

Breakfast is the first and most important meal of the day. Glucose levels are raised, resulting in a more effective body function. An adequate breakfast helps improve our daily performance, our metabolism is accelerated and it prevents obesity enhancing the intensity and quality of functional training.

Do you know a few of the consequences that not having breakfast can cause?

  • Decay
  • Bad mood
  • Lack of concentration
  • Under physical and intellectual performance by failure, primarily from glucose.

If also you like sports and exercising in the mornings daily, breakfast is a must.

Why is it important?

It is true that not eating breakfast, body reserves are not exhausted, but decreased due to the consumption of carbohydrates at night. In other words, glycogen reserves still exist, both in the liver and muscle. However, although the body should not be trained while fasting, it is exercised with a low load of glucose which leaves muscle without its main fuel resulting in the loss of muscle mass.

Tiredness, exhaustion, or the decrease in performance will appear with that loss of muscle mass and functional training will not be performed with the necessary energy.

And it is scientifically proven that eating before training allows athletes train more intensely than those in “fasting”. The result is that in the long run they burn more fat during and after sports.

In conclusion, physical exercise on decreased reserves can be harmful to health, since it may lead to hypoglycemia with consequences such as: dizziness, vomiting, cramps… etc.

When optimal sports nutrition is not carried out, training ceases to be healthy and beneficial. Trust Reto48 team and transforms you’re eating habits in healthy ones!
